TMJ Treatment (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Care) aims to relieve pain and restore optimal function to the temporomandibular joint—the connection between your jaw and skull—while also addressing related scalp tension, neck complications and stress release for comprehensive relief.
What is TMJ Disorder?
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder is a condition affecting the jaw joint and surrounding muscles, often causing pain and dysfunction. TMJ problems can lead to tension not only in the jaw muscles but also in the neck and scalp, as these areas are interconnected. Additionally, cervical spine misalignment (misalignment of the neck vertebrae) can contribute to or worsen TMJ symptoms by affecting posture and muscle balance.
Common Symptoms
Include jaw pain or stiffness, headaches, scalp tension, neck pain, limited jaw movement, and clicking or popping sounds in the jaw.

TMJ Therapy Treatment Techniques Include:
Eye Movement Exercises
Guided eye movements stimulate the neurological connections with the suboccipital muscles, helping to release tension and improve coordination between the eyes, neck, and jaw.
Suboccipital Muscle Therapy
Targeted manual therapy or gentle stretching of the suboccipital muscles relieves tightness that contributes to TMJ discomfort.
Postural and Cervical Alignment
Correcting cervical spine alignment supports proper head and jaw positioning, reducing strain on the TMJ.
Muscle Relaxation and Corrective Exercises
Exercises and treatments focused on jaw, neck, and scalp muscles alleviate pain and improve function.
Head & Ear Reflexology
Reverses sensitive stimulus, easing local pain with a sense of relief. Also helps soothe mental tension.
Physiokey Treatment
Biofeedback machine using electrical signals, frequency and wavelengths to help reduce fibrotic tissues & inflammation, calm the nervous system and reactivate muscle spindles.
Dry Needling
Helps to release and rehydrate contracted jaw and neck muscles.
